About 33.9
33.9 is a brand of sneakers that embodies the energy of the dreamer who consistently never quits. In 1969, legendary American basketball coach Bill Musselman wrote and published a book called 33.9 which focused on his creation of the nations’ number one defense. The sneakers are named in honor of Musselman’s record-breaking NCAA season when the opposing team averaged only 33.9 points per game. The brand is a tribute to Musselman’s unwavering belief that anything is possible. He believed in the longshot.
FOUNDERS
The sneaker line 33.9 was co-founded by Henry Boykin a division 1 lacrosse player at Bucknell University and his mother Nicole Musselman founder and CEO of the fashion line KOCH. 33.9 is inspired by Nicole’s father Bill Musselman. Musselman was a basketball coach in the NBA and NCAA, who passed away in 2000. In honor of his grandfather, Henry came up with the 33.9 concept during the summer of 2020. Henry, an athlete himself, said, “Coming from a family of athletes and fashion designers, I wanted to create something that would appeal to both, so I thought what a better idea than create a brand with my Mom.”
